Practice will begin on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
and will be held Monday through Thursday from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
This allows swimmers to ride the bus to the Y after school, have a
quick snack, and get in the water at 4:00 pm.
Tadpoles will practice from 4:00 – 5:00pm.
BAY does NOT have a minimum requirement for training sessions each week for any group. Attendance to each day’s training session will depend on each swimmer’s schedule, as well as their family’s schedule. Swimmers and parents should be aware that extended time away from training will affect a swimmer’s performance and team relationships. The effect becomes greater within the older and higher skill groups.
Swimmers age twelve and under are encouraged to participate in other activities outside of swimming while they develop the technique, endurance and competitiveness that are the foundation for successful swimmers. Thirteen and older swimmers are also encouraged to participate in other activities, but are also asked to make a greater commitment to swimming and to the team by participating in more training sessions.
All swimmers will practice with their respective age groups or where the coach decides to place them depending on skill level. Swimmers should arrive at least 10 minutes before practice so that they are ready to get in the pool on time. Practice begins with stretching and warm-up to prevent injury. Important instructions and information may be missed by coming late to practice. If you have to travel a distance to get to practice being a few minutes late will be excused.
